Merry Christmas Everyone!!

Kents Cavern 14th December

Younger group ended the year with a magical trip to Kents Cavern this weekend. We met elves and fairies who took us on a journey through the caves to find Santa! We had a really lovely time with all of the lights, the acoustics of the caves and of course meeting Santa! Afterwards we headed back up out of the caves and finished off with a lovely hot chocolate!

Christmas Party! 8th December

Our Christmas Party was a huge success again this year. It’s always a perfect way to round up the year! Huge thanks to all of our lovely families that came along to join us and to our wonderful staff that give up their time to help us to create the magical environment and atmosphere that we love our Christmas party to be! We received some lovely donations again this year from local businesses for our raffle and you can find more information on the news and thank yous page!

Pennywell Farm 7th December

Older group had a fab time at Pennywell this week. We dusted off our acting skills and took part in their interactive nativity play and it’s safe to say, we have some real stars in the group! After the performance, we popped by to see Santa, to make sure he had everyone’s Christmas lists in hand!

Santa Train 30th November

Younger group had a magical time on the Santa train today! The ride was filled with fun and laughter and we had a lovely visit from Santa, involving some lovely gifts and a lovely, loud singalong to some Christmas classics!

Christmas Baking 23rd November

This week older group turned their hand to a spot of Christmas baking, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed! Half of the group baked at a time, whilst the others headed out to Stover for a walk, or over to Hollacombe for their Christmas Fayre.

Haven Banks 16th November

Younger group took a trip to Haven Banks this week to check out their climbing wall and artificial caving for the first time. We had an amazing day climbing and exploring the artificial caves. Some of the group took a walk along the canal to the nearby park for a play, whilst the others finished up exploring! The staff at Haven Banks were wonderful and couldn’t have made us feel more welcome – Imogen even had them practising their dance moves in her Strictly challenge!

China Blue 9th November

Older group took a trip to China Blue this week to get creative! Everyone worked hard on creating their individual masterpieces.

Boo to a Goose 2nd November

This week younger group spent the morning getting creative. They were then visited at the club by the wonderful Marie & Mark from Boo to a Goose – a storytelling theatre company from Exeter. It was a fantastic afternoon comprised of a fully immersive story experience, followed by face painting.

Disney on ice and pumpkin carving 26th October

This week some of older group headed to Westpoint to watch Disney on ice and had a wonderful time watching their favourite characters and stories come to life. The other half of the group had some autumnal fun, pumpkin carving at club and then heading out for an autumnal walk.

Crealy 19th October

Younger group had a fab, fun day out at Crealy this week! There is something for everyone at Crealy and everyone had a brilliant, action packed day!

Killerton Apple Day 12th October

Older group had a blast at Killerton this week for their apple picking day and everyone had a great time following the process from picking their apples to pressing them and bottling and tasting their juice!

Bear Trail 5th October

Younger group had a wet and wild day at the Bear Trail in Cullompton this weekend. The Bear Trail is always a fab day filled with good, mucky, outdoors fun for all of our young people (and the staff too!)

Aquarium 28th September

This week older group took a trip to Plymouth Aquarium. This is always a much loved trip of older group’s and we had a lovely day as always!

Cinema & Park 21st September

This week some of younger group headed to the cinema to watch The Lion King in Exeter, while the rest of the group headed to the park for a play! Both parts of the group thoroughly enjoyed their day!

Babbacombe 14th September

Older group spent the day in Babbacombe this week. We had fish and chips for lunch on the downs before taking the cliff railway down to Oddicombe beach for a paddle under the September sun.

Elmer Trail 7th September

This week it was younger group’s turn to take on the Elmer trail in Plymouth. We had a lovely day exploring the city centre whilst seeking out the wonderful, unique Elemer statues along the way!

Escot House 31st August

This week older group enjoyed exploring the grounds at Escot House. The maze, bird show and slides are always particular favourites of the group when we visit Escot.

Gympanzees 10th August

Younger group had the opportunity to visit the fantastic Gympanzees summer pop up in Bristol this week. We had a great day, jam packed with fun, accessible activities for all – from an accessible gym and park to fantastic sensory rooms and much more! We are excited to watch the progression of Gympanzees, who hope to open accessible gyms across the country!

Elmer trail and swimming 3rd August

Older group had a fab time in Plymouth, completing some of the Elmer trail before having a dip in the gorgeous outdoor pool at Tinside Lido. It’s lovely to find an accessible outdoor pool!

Greenway House 27th July

This week, younger group had a lovely time exploring the house and grounds at Greenway. We learnt some things about Agatha Christie and enjoyed exploring her home whilst making good use of our National Trust passes!

Summer Surf Challenge 20th July

Older group had a fantastic day at the Wave Project’s Summer Surf Challenge 2019 this week! Surfing is a firm favourite trip of ours at club and it is always wonderful to see all of our young people accessing and enjoying the waves in their own way!

World of Country Life 13th July

This week younger group enjoyed all that World of Country Life has to offer. The deer train, soft play and air bounce are particular favourites of the group! We also enjoyed the birds of prey show and lots more!

Brixham 22nd June

This week older group headed to Brixham. We had some fun in the sea before tucking into some yummy fish and chips!

Orange Elephant 15th June

This week was younger group’s turn to take a trip to the Orange Elephant. We had a lovely time playing in the summer meadow in the sunshine before tucking into some of Mrs T’s finest ice cream and sorbet!

Funky Llama festival – 8th June

We had a fantastic day at the Funky Llama Festival, which made its return this week after having a year off. Funky Llama is always a firm favourite of ours and provides a fun day packed with a great atmosphere and lots of creative entertainment! We also said goodbye to Alex and another of our young people and we wish them both lots of luck in the future!

Cycling and Goodrington 1st June

We had a brilliant day at the velopark for the Breaking The Barrier cycling event hosted by Lifeworks. It was great to try out some fantastic, inclusive bikes and lots of fun was had by all! After cycling, we headed over to Goodrington for ice cream on the beach and we were lucky enough to catch some of the red arrows display overhead!

Kaspa’s – 25th May

This week we said goodbye to Gabriella as she turns 19. We spent her last day in Exeter, where we had a picnic on the cathedral green and then headed over to Kaspa’s to check out their delicious desserts. We wish Ella lots of luck in her future and older group will all miss her.

Sidmouth Sea Festival – 18th May

Younger group had a great day at the Sidmouth Sea Festival. They loved the sea shanties and being able to drive the lifeboat the most! They even had a storytelling boat which was loads of fun. We finished off with an ice cream on the beach. What could be better!?

Yarak – 11th May

Older group had a great trip to Yarak, where we have the chance to get up close to their fantastic birds of prey. This visit we spent some time holding, flying and feeding the owls.

iBounce and Stover – 4th May

Younger group had a fantastic, active day. We started the day with some fun at iBounce, which is always a firm favourite! We then headed over to Stover for a picnic in the woods, followed by a stroll around the lake in the sunshine.

Orange Elephant – 27th April

Older group had a very blustery day on the farm, meeting all of the new animals for the 2019 season. They also loved the new elephant slide!

Easter Fun – 6th April

Today younger group have had a lovely sunny day on an Easter Egg hunt in the gardens at Coleton Fishacre. Such a beautiful place for some springtime fun.

Mother’s Day – 30th March

Older group spent the day making goodies for our Mums and Carers. Lots of chocolate and flowers were on the agenda!

Kennford 23rd March

Younger group spit into two today. Half of the group went to the Odeon in Exeter to learn how to train dragons – massive thanks to Kidsout for the free tickets. The others went to Haldon Forest to get wet and wild in the woods.

Pennywell Farm 16th March

Older group went to Pennywell for a farmyard adventure. They has a brilliant day exploring the signs of Spring.

Plymouth Aquarium 16th February

Older group went to the aquarium which was a great session for everyone – loads of lovely sensory experiences and happy faces! This was also Marina’s last session with us a she is now 19. Good luck in your new adventures, Marina!

Sciencedipity 9th February 2019

Younger group had a special visit from Sciencedipity. They had a brilliant time exploding volcanoes and making slime.

Paignton Zoo 2nd February

Older group spent a gorgeous spring day at the zoo – lovely to be out in the fresh air and making the most of the play areas.

Haldon Forest 19th January

Here’s older group on the trail of Zog the Dragon. They loved donning the masks and searching the forest for dragons! It was a chilly winter walk but lots of fun.

Play Cafe 12th January

The Play Cafe was hard work for these little ladies, so a hard-earned Slush Puppy was needed! Play Cafe is our favourite soft play for the winter months. They have loads of space and great snacks!

Crealy 8th December

Older group had a Christmas filled day at Crealy. They took part in decoration making and watched the fabulous side show. They even visited Santa’s workshop and were given a present each.

Christmas Bake off 22nd December 2018

This was older group’s chance to bake up some Christmas magic. We also played some old-school party games which were brilliant fun. Merry Christmas!

The Christmas Express 15th December

This was younger group’s opportunity to meet Santa with a fab trip on the Christmas Express. It was a brilliant way to celebrate.

Shrek 24th November

Older group enjoyed their trip to see Shrek at the Theatre Royal in Plymouth. They had a brilliant time and loved the special effects and songs. This trip was supported by Daytrippers – thank you for your help, Daytrippers.

Madagascar 17th November

Here’s younger group digging into their interval snacks at the theatre. They had a brilliant time and we were singing “I like to move it, move it….” all the way home!
